Islamic Emirate and Türkiye Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Ankara: A delegation from the Islamic Emirate’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently met with officials from Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to explore ways to enhance political, economic, trade, and transit cooperation between the two nations.

During the discussions, both sides focused on boosting business and transit opportunities and proposed the establishment of a joint commission to oversee bilateral matters.

Cihad Erginay, the head of South Asia at the Turkish Foreign Ministry, emphasized the importance of continued political dialogue and reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to deepening its engagement with Afghanistan across various sectors.

Political and economic analysts highlighted the long-standing cultural and religious ties between the two nations, stating that stronger cooperation with Türkiye would be mutually beneficial. Experts noted that Türkiye could play a crucial role in facilitating Afghanistan’s economic and trade connections with Europe, given its strategic ties with Western nations.

Since the Islamic Emirate took power, Türkiye has maintained its diplomatic presence in Afghanistan, keeping its embassy open and continuing engagements with Afghan authorities.
